About Us


Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited is a Government of Karnataka undertaking established under the Companies Act on September  7th 1973 with the primary objective of procurement, lifting and distributing food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS) aid implementing various other schemes of the government.
It has total no. of Wholesale points 187, Total No. of Retail points 194 & Total No. of districts 28, Its registered office is situated at Bangalore.

As a Wholesaler lifting food grains from the Food Corporation of India godowns Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., transacts about 65% of the business, the rest being shared by TAPCMSs. It is also the main agency for lifting food grains under the special programmes like Food for Work, SGRY and Mid-day-Meals scheme for School Children.

Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, plays its role as a market stabilizer by purchasing paddy and other coarse grains from the growers under the Minimum Support Price Operations (MSP). To provide Common Man's Needs at Affordable Prices (COMNAP) KFCSC has been selling edible oil, spices and other articles of daily consumption through its Retail Outlets. KFCSC has branched out in to areas like Petrol, Diesel and LPG outlets and has entered in to tie-up arrangements with Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. The area of  operation of KFCSC has thus been expanding ever since its inception and it has thus been fulfilling a major social obligation.
 
Broad Objectives:

Procurement of essential commodities like rice, wheat, sugar etc., and distribution of the same to consumers  through Public Distribution System.

To make available other essential commodities like edible oil, dal, spices, kerosene etc., to common man at reasonable prices.

Provide a network of Wholesale and Retails outlets to ensure smooth functioning of the distribution system.

Market Intervention to stabilize the prices so as to provide protection to the growers of paddy and other coarse grains through Minimum Support Price.

To establish LPG / Diesel and Petrol Outlets for distributing the same to the general public.

To implement various time-bound programmes / schemes as and when introduced by the Govt., namely Sampoorna Grameena Rozgar Yojana ( SGRY ), Food for work (SGRY special component), Akshara Dasoha Scheme etc.

The company has an Authorized Share Capital of Rs. 6 crores and the Paid-up Share Capital of Rs.3.25 crores. The entire share-holding is by the Government of Karnataka. The details are as under:
